Queensland Road Safety Week was officially launched in the Darling Downs at Northpoint Shopping Centre yesterday.
The venue was chosen for the launch due to its high visibility space with plenty of room for vehicles.
People were able to interact with members of Emergency Services including, Police Officers, Fire Fighters and Paramedics. Also in attendance were representatives from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR).
The event allowed members of the Darling Downs community the opportunity to discuss road safety with members of Emergency Services and to see the equipment and vehicles used to keep our roads safe.
Police Assistant Commissioner Mike Condon, was one of many speakers who spoke on behalf of their services about the importance of Queensland Road Safety Week and how working together as a community will hopefully save lives on our Queensland roads.
Road Safety Week runs from Monday August 27-Friday August 31.
