The teenager charged with the Boxing Day murder of a Good Samaritan in Broadbeach Waters will remain behind bars after facing court on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old from Varsity Lakes is accused of running over Yatala man Darren Pullar in Rio Vista Boulevard, as the 50-year-old was going to help the victims of a nearby home invasion.

The teenager did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.

He will return to court on January 19.

Police said there was no evidence to link the teen with the home invasion.
