Man Charged After Fatal Crash In Shepparton 9News

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 35-year-old Kialla man following a fatal crash in Shepparton on Saturday morning.

Thomas Baksh was charged with culpable driving and dangerous driving causing the death of a 12-year-old boy, who was seated in the passenger seat.

The boy was killed when the vehicle struck a pole off Wanganui Road just after 1am. Two other children seated in the rear of the vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The Shepparton News reports that Baksh – an L-Plater – admitted to drinking around 3-dozen alcoholic beverages at a child’s 10th birthday party prior to driving.

Baksh is set to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
