A driver is facing several offences after leading police on pursuits spanning the state's North Coast to the Hunter.
It's alleged a man stole petrol from service stations on the M1 Motorway between Bundaberg, Queensland and Nambucca Heads over the weekend.
Officers attempted to pull over a Ford Falcon connected to the thefts several times as the vehicle traveled south - but each chase was terminated due to safety reasons.
Police finally managed to pull the sedan over near the Hexham Bridge just before midday yesterday as a part of a coordinated traffic operation to stop the driver.
A 30-year-old man was arrested, along with a 15-year-old girl travelling with him.
The youngest of the pair has been released without charge.
