A Boy Has Been Bitten During An Attempted Macquarie Park Robbery

Police are appealing for public assistance after a boy was bitten on the cheek during an attempted robbery at a Macquarie Park shopping centre.

Acting Superintendent Jason Weinstein says the 13-year-old was approached by two males around 11:40am yesterday, who threatened him and tried to steal his shoes.

"We are urging the offender and any other person who may have witnessed the incident to come forward to police before we come knocking on their doors," he said.

After the boy pushed one of the males away, he was assaulted and bitten on the cheek, but managed to escape and receive medical treatment.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation and wish to speak with two males who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

One male has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 18 and 20, 170-175cm tall, of a medium build, blond short shaved hair, and a tattoo of the letter ‘K’ on the back of his left hand. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper, green cargo pants and a black baseball cap.

A second male has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 18 and 22, 170-180cm tall, of a muscular build, brown short hair, unshaven, and with a tattoo of an uncoloured rose on the back of his right hand. He was last seen wearing a grey over black jumper, blue denim jeans and a black and white chequered baseball cap.
