Mango Marauder’s off to Court

A mango marauder’s been caught by police --- after a string of armed robberies across Townsville.

He was caught perched in a tree.

The man refusing to come down for five hours on Friday night going into Saturday morning.

The 24-year-old accused of carrying our robberies at gunpoint at West End and Thuringowa on Friday night, and another with a baseball bat at Oonoonba on Thursday.

But hanging out in a stranger’s backyard mango tree was his undoing, with residents calling in Police. Negotiators eventually talking him down.

He's been charged with 10 offences and will be in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
