Triple M's Hot Breakfast chief footy reporter Tom Browne says one club is offering over a million dollars a season for Dylan Shiel, but the Giants are becoming "increasingly confident" of keeping him.
TOM BROWNE REPORTS:
Browne said the Giants were positive about Shiel's chances of staying at the club despite some significant offers on the table for a return home.
The star midfielder is contracted until the end of 2019, where he will enter free agency status.
"The Giants actually took Shiel out for dinner last week," he told Triple M.
"They've been working hard on keeping him. They're increasingly confident, so that'll be an issue after the finals."
Eddie McGuire wasn't surprised the Giants were working hard to retain Shiel.
"I would have thought so!" he laughed.
"They'll be going around and picking him up every morning! They'll be fluffing his pillow before he goes to bed!"
