Carlton and West Coast legend Chris Judd says that Gold Coast should apologise to Tom Lynch for letting him down.

Lynch played in just 37 wins in his 131 matches for the Suns, with the side never making finals in his time up there.

Lynch was the Suns' co-captain for the last two years, the club’s leading goalkicker from 2014-17, a best and fairest winner in 2015 and 16 and an All-Australian player in 2016.

Speaking on the Friday Huddle ahead of the Richmond v Geelong game, Juddy said that Gold Coast didn’t come to the party for Lynch.

“I think if Gold Coast people are dirty on Tom Lynch it’s absolutely ridiculous,” Juddy said.

“If anything they should be apologising to Tom Lynch.

“They should say ‘look, we’re sorry, we drafted you as a kid, the environment we created for wasn’t up to standard, we’ve cost you eight years of your career where you had no chance of succeeding, we’re sorry, thanks for putting in, you go with our blessing’.

“That’s the line they should have taken.”
