Hawthorn defender Grant Birchall has suffered another blow in his bid to play football in 2018, straining his adductor.
Birchall - who has missed the entire 2018 season as well as the back half of 2017 with a knee injury - was closing in on full fitness.
The 30-year-old was preparing to play limited game time for Box Hill on the weekend before hurting his adductor at training.
Hawthorn director of high performance Andrew Russell said the strain was minor.
"Grant has had a number of muscle overload issues since returning to skills training," he told Hawthorn's website.
"The adductor strain is minor and he should be available in the next one to two weeks."
